The Dealt Hand specializes in making games easy to learn and accessible for all - our experienced and friendly staff are available to bring a huge variety of game events to your location, making it possible for your patrons to try a huge variety of games in the comfort of your library! Check out our current options below, and reach out to us if you have a need you don’t see listed!
Hosted Board Game Events
Our hosts are experts on the games we bring - meaning that we’ll recommend games to meet your patrons interest and experience levels, help them set up and teach them how to play! Our collection is great for all ages; with games appropriate for ages 4 and up, and is constantly expanding. You can check out our nearly 1000 titles here!
If you’re looking to match a particular program, we have bundles of games for common focuses: STEM, Environmentalism(Plant A Seed!), Art, Programming, or literary themes and more!
Learn to Play D&D with School of Adventure!
Our core School of Adventure program is designed to take up to 20 Adventurers through the process of learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons - while playing it! Our custom character sheet overlay helps break down the basics so kids (or adults!) can learn the basics of D&D while participating in a group adventure!
Learn to Play Mah Jongg
Our Learn to Play Mah Jongg program is a perfect way to kick off a regular Mah Jongg group at your library! Our program provides everything needed for up to 20 participants, and our 3 hour session will give players the basics they need to play the game, plus have plenty of time to play with a knowledgeable host ready to provide support! Participants will also take home a handy reference sheet for future plays!
This program requires 5 card tables (approximately 34” square or round) and a projector set up. If your space does not have these available, we can provide them for an additional $50 cost.
Giant, Outdoor Board Games (Available May 2026)
Our custom built games are perfect for large outdoor gatherings, kickoff events and street fairs! Our collection is designed to be robust, easy to pick up and play, and flexible! We’ll have at least a dozen games available in May, and if the weather is looking spotty the day of the event, we can normally swap out our outdoor games for a pop-up board game day!
Current Games: Mountain Goats (pictured), Carcassonne, Tsuro, Boop, Kingdomino, Qwirkle
Campfire Story Games
If you’re looking for outside events - our campfire story game nights are good all-age events - with a mix of large group games prior to nightfall, and then splitting into story games, with participants working together to craft a narrative!
Games are structured to create safe, collaborative environments where all participants are able to contribute equally - and come out with a memorable, unique story!
Murder-Mystery Style Events
Produced in-house, our mystery events are written to be easy for people to step into with minimal preparation or experience - it’s a great night of mystery!
We have a huge amount of flexibility by producing them ourselves - allowing us to tweak them to meet your particular needs!
Blood on the Clocktower
A hidden role role game where you're trying to either hunt out the demon, or kill the townsfolk - with each player having a secret role and special ability! Leaning heavily into the deductive logic and bluffing elements, even if you 'die' early in the game, you're still an active participant throughout the game!
Special Programming
Do you have a theme event that needs a little spicing up? We love building custom programming to add to your event! Whether it’s a creative D&D map making program, or a large group story game, or a teambuilding event for your staff, we’ve got so many games up our sleeves, we’ve got something that will fit!
